Jie Wu, Research Director within IDC's Technical Computing team, provides market analysis, research, and consulting in the Technical Computing space. Specific research areas include market sizing, segmentation, competitive analysis and forecasting of the Technical Computing market. With the expertise in building results from field studies, Ms. Wu provides insightful guidance and actionable recommendations to the Technical Computing community.

Prior to joining IDC, Ms. Wu worked in the semiconductor industry as a data specialist responsible for semiconductor system development and diagnostics using data analysis and modeling techniques. Combining her statistical background and industry knowledge, Ms. Wu also conducted extensive competitive market analysis in semiconductor industry. Prior to that, Ms. Wu did sizable work on numerical modeling in the areas of sea ice concentration and sea surface temperature, a multi-year program sponsored by NASA. Ms. Wu holds bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, master's degree in Applied Mathematics from University of Vermont and an M.B.A. from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College in Massachusetts.
