Giacomo Laurini is a senior research analyst focusing on SPSS statistic analysis in IDC's European Vertical Markets group.
Laurini has been a key contributor to the sophistication of our statistical analysis on survey data with cluster and discriminant analysis, creating our famous SMB clusters and offering to the European vertical group and Insights analysts a wide variety of views and knowledge from our survey results. As a collaborative contributor to the group, Giacomo has also helped with the development of our European vendor revenue database, forming the basis of the competitive analysis studies for our ITO programs.
Laurini is responsible for the methodological aspects of the quantitative analysis, both as software programmer and data analyst. He applies key statistical validation criteria to ensure the quality and reliability of the analysis and findings of the European Vertical Markets group's surveys, carried out either for standard research purposes or for specific consulting projects. He is also involved in applying advanced statistical techniques such as regression, cluster analysis, and discriminant analysis to single out and anticipate key behavioral trends in IT priorities and investment strategies across verticals as they emerge from the survey findings.
Giacomo graduated in Economics from the University of Parma. He holds two masters' , in public administration (public policy specialization) from New York University and in economics and finance from Venice International University.
