Abstract

This IDC study examines recent survey data from medium-sized and large Canadian businesses on their current usage of and plans for using third-party application management services. The market for application management services continues to grow in Canada, and based on the survey results presented in this document, there are strong indications that this will continue for the next 12–18 months.

"The key to continued growth in AM services lies in packaged applications, to a large extent, and the ability of vendors to promote the installation of packaged applications in Canadian enterprises. Cloud computing will begin to enter the equation as well, placing pressure on the AM services market, but there is still a window of opportunity for providers to establish larger footprints," says Jim Westcott, research manager, Application Solutions.
